Rag Rugs and Beyond

  • Rag Rugs and Beyond

In this half day workshop we’ll take a brief look at the history of this craft and the different textile techniques that can be used to make a rag rug or textile piece, then move on to design examples and variations using these techniques. We’ll focus mostly on the technique of ‘Progging’ or ‘Prodding’ and go through the process involved from beginning to end of making a rag rug using this easy technique.
You can leave with a sampler of your work or maybe a small finished piece that can be used as a table mat but most importantly you’ll have learnt a new skill, of a very old craft .
